Melvin C. Franklin

Melvin Carter Franklin, 80, of Henderson, NC passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Chase City, Virginia, he was the son of the late William Barber Franklin and Willie Frances Tuck Franklin.

Mr. Franklin was a member of Victory Baptist Church, a member of the choir and was formerly the Sunday School Superintendent.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Victory Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Ricky Easter and the Rev. Michael Wayne Franklin. A private burial will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens in Danville, Virginia.

Survivors include his wife of thirty-eight years, Patsy Setliff Franklin; a daughter, Robin F. Jones (Robbie); a granddaughter, Angela Dale Jones ("Papa's Princess"); two sisters, Barbara F. Hines and Betty Jean F. Williams (Mike); one brother, Michael Wayne Franklin (Ann); his North Carolina kids; Mike and Melinda Adcock and his dog Mercedes "Sadie".

The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 28, 2024, from 10:00- 11:00 a.m. at Victory Baptist Church.  All other times, they will be at his home.

The family wishes to give a special "Thank You" to Gentiva Hospice for their love and compassionate care shown to Mr. Franklin during his illness.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Victory Baptist Church, P.O. Box 592, Henderson, NC 27536.
