Michael Anthony Boyd, 68, of Oxford, NC, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 6, 2024.
Born in Granville County, he was the son of the late John G. Boyd and Joyce Wade Boyd.
He was a US Navy Corpsman and courageously served in the Vietnam War. After retiring as a Residential Maintenance Engineer in Jacksonville, FL, he then returned to his hometown of Oxford. He was dedicated to the service of others and always lent a helping hand to friends and family with a smile and a joke along the way.
Survivors include two daughters; Jessica West of Henderson, Tressie Hall of Bunn, one son; Michael Boyd, Jr. of Pennsylvania and one step-daughter; Tricia Thomas of Henderson, NC; one brother; John Gregory Boyd (Tammy); two sisters; Wendy Wilkins (Richard) and Trudy Williamson (Tommy); Aunts; Jean Wade Burwell, Martha Abbott (Snookum) and Wanda Newcomb (John); a Very Special and Beloved friend Carla Vollheim and many loving cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sherri B. Brown and Joannie Boyd.
