Mildred Taylor Jones, 99, of Creedmoor, NC passed away Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Transitions Hospice in Raleigh.

Born in McDowell County, NC on September 30, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Claudius Taylor and Benna Whitner Taylor.

Mildred was a faithful member of Olive Grove Baptist Church. She was a farmer, homemaker, and a wonderful cook.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Durham. Pastor Zack Davenport will officiate. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the home following the graveside service.

Survivors include three children, James Arthur Jones, Marcia Dale Churchill and Mary Elizabeth Oakley; two grandchildren, Susanne Oakley and Randy Oakley; three great grandchildren, Lucas Oakley, Brandon Oakley and Daniel Jones and one sister, Mary Hilliard and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, two months and two days, Arthur Lee Keith Jones; five brothers, Claudius Howard Taylor, Benjamin Franklin Taylor, Johnny Festrice Taylor, Lenard Washington Taylor and Clerance James Taylor and two sisters, Susanna Bedingfield and Gracie Ayers.
