Mildred "Millie" Cauthon Shepley, 87, of Butner passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at Duke Regional.
Born in Bates County, MO on April 1, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Olin B. Cauthon and Glendora Frances Backer.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Durham Church of Christ at a later date.
Survivors include two daughters, Melody Bain (Calvin) and Sarah Hardin (Dale); eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; a special sister-in-law, Joy Gatewood; numerous dear nieces and nephews; her church family and very close friends. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Dale; two children, Mona Lisa and Eddie; her sister, Dottie, much-loved brothers-in-law, Bill, Sam and Terry; Special step parents, Bob Carter and Ella Cauthon and her daughter-in-law, Rose Shepley.
