Morris E. Reese

Morris Edward Reese, 85, of Townsville, NC died Monday, October 10, 2022, at a local nursing home.

Born in Mecklenburg County, VA on October 25, 1936, he was the son of the late Beulah Short Reese and James Reese.

Mr. Reese retired from the former Ball-In-Con Corp. and was a longtime member of Rock Spring Baptist Church, where he formerly served as a Deacon.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 13, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Rock Spring Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Gary Brummitt.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Surviving is his wife of sixty-seven years, Marie Dickerson Reese; one daughter, Patricia R. Clayton, two sons, M. Dean Reese (Kathy) and Jimmy L. Reese; two grandsons, Trent Clayton and Lucas Clayton; one sister, Ruth R. Hale. He was preceded in death by one sister, Frances (Fran) Propst and four brothers, Lawrence Reese, Herman Reese, Pat Reese and Marvin Reese.

He really loved his family and will be sorely missed by everyone.

The family will receive friends Thursday, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Rock Spring Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.  All other times, they will be at his home.

Serving as pall bearers will be Trent Clayton, Lucas Clayton, Greg Reese, David Matthews Jr., Josh Peoples and Keith Garrett.
