Nancy Collins Moore

[November 23, 1936] – [June 30, 2026]

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nancy Collins Moore, who met her Lord and Savior on June 30, 2026 at the age of 89 in Henderson, NC.

Nancy Collins Moore was born on November 23, 1936 in Henderson, NC to Thomas G. Collins and Nellie Ward Collins. She grew up in Henderson, NC and Graduated from Henderson High School. Throughout her life, she worked as a seamstress at Jonbil Manufacturing Corporation and Retired as a cashier in the Cafeteria at Pinkston Street Elementary school.

Nancy Moore was a faithful Lifelong Member of South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a member of the Living By God’s Word Sunday School Class and President of the Women’s Ministry. The Oldest Ministry at SHPHC. She was also a Faithful Member of the Wednesday Morning Senior Service, and Fellowship Meal Afterwards.

Nancy was a kind, loving, Christian Mother, Wife, Grandmother, and Great- Grandmother. Nothing made her Happier than spending time with All of her Family. She loved Holidays, but Christmas was her favorite. She loved all of the decorations and especially buying presents. The more the Merrier. She loved having her hair done, wearing sparkly clothes, and having her nails painted. She had a standing Friday appointment to have her hair done every single week for nearly 70 years. She was a magnet for people everywhere she went. She was loved so deeply by anyone that was fortunate enough to know her. If you were ever looking for her, you could almost always find her at Church or at her favorite Restaurant, Pino’s.

Nancy is survived by her son Bradford L. (Brad) Abbott (Wife Carol Abbott), Granddaughter Jessica Buckner (Husband Ben Buckner), Grandson Chris Abbott (Wife April Abbott), and her Great-Grandchildren Tanner Abbott, Emma Abbott, Beauford Buckner, Eleanor Buckner, and Weston Buckner. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Tom and Nellie Collins, her son Barry Lee Abbott, the father of her sons, Alton Abbott, her late husband J.C. Moore, and her sister Teressa Hock.

Nancy was Blessed with a Loving and Kind roommate Sally Ann VanDyke.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to caregivers and medical staff at Kerr Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their support and care.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday July 8 at 2 pm at South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church. Conducted by the Rev. Frank Sossamon. Friends and family are invited to attend and celebrate Nancy Moore’s life.

The Family will receive friends on Monday July 6, 2026 at the Home of Ben and Jessica Buckner, between the Hours of 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM Respectively.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations in her memory. Your kindness, prayers, and support during this time are sincerely appreciated.

Nancy Moore will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all that who knew Her.
