Nancy Riley Thorpe, 64, of Creedmoor passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Duke Regional Hospital.
Born in Durham County on May 21, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Walter Jackson Riley Jr. and Evelyn Lillie Wheeley.
Nancy was passionate about her family and loved her grandchildren immensely. She loved the outdoors, gardening, searching for arrowheads, music and traveling. Her favorite place was the beach, but she also loved the mountains. She enjoyed many years living in Kentucky, but North Carolina was always home. More than anything she wanted us all to know how much she loved us so she would take time out of her day to let us know whether by phone calls or texts. She will be greatly missed!

Survivors include her husband, John W. Thorpe; one daughter, Laurie Long (James); one son, William J. Lunsford; two grandsons, Cayden L. Lunsford and Kent Harp; one sister, Janet Owen; two nieces, Brandy Weaver and Wendy DuCasse; two great nieces, one great nephew and numerous extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Riley.
