Nelson Holmes Dunn Sr.

Nelson Holmes Dunn Sr., 76, of Oxford passed away Friday, August 16, 2024, at Universal Healthcare.

Nelson was born in Granville County on February 10, 1948, to the late Rosa Mae Harris Caudle. He served in the United States Army for several years.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Survivors include two sons, Nelson Dunn, Jr. and Kenny Dunn (Christie); five grandchildren, Hunter Dunn, Alyssa Dunn, Riddick Dunn, Abby Dunn and Kira Dunn; two brothers, Teddie Caudle and Eddie Caudle Sr. (Teresa) and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Other than his mom, he was preceded in death by one sister-in-law, Mary Colenda Caudle.

Nelson was an avid outdoorsman and sports enthusiast, particularly hunting, fishing and softball. He also loved caring for many dogs and playing skills-based games with friends and others.
