Nelson Daniel Wester, 84, of Oxford, NC passed away Monday, January 13, 2025 at Granville Medical Center.
Born in Vance County, he was the son of the late James Earl Wester and Sally Mae Fry Wester.
Mr. Wester was a member and deacon at Clearview Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Clearview Church, 3485 US-158 BUS, Henderson, NC 27537.
Surviving are his wife, Iva Mae King Wester; two daughters, Amy Denise Wester and Donna Elaine Wester; two sons, John Earl Wester and Byron Lynn Wester; three stepdaughters, Jane Dease, Debra Inscoe (Grady), and Nora Clayborne (Kenneth); one stepson, Bobby Lewis Hunt Jr. (Rhonda); nine grandchildren as well as nine step-grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren; and many extended family members. Alongside his parents, Mr. Wester was preceded in death by his brother, Fleming Wester.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Clearview Church conducted by Rev. Dr. Abidan Shah and Pastor Joe Don Cooper. Interment will immediately follow the service at the Fleming Family Cemetery in Middleburg.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 12:30-2:00 p.m. at Clearview Church prior to the service. For all other times they will be at his home in Oxford.
Serving as pallbearers will be Aaron Holland, Bill Bissinger, Ricky Zook, Lewis Hunt, Alvin Harris, Cody Paschall, Caden Paschall, and Brinkley Hunt.
