Patricia Morgan Baker, age 80. Died July 16, 2025 peacefully in her home in Portland, OR.

Born Feb 11, 1945 in Henderson, NC. Predeceased by brother Randall Morgan, father Grover Cleveland Morgan Jr., husband Robert Mahlon Baker, Jr. and mother Lucille Renn Morgan.

She is survived by daughters Lisa Dawn Baker and Tiffany Anne Baker and cat Sylvie.

Pat grew up a member of West End Baptist Church and attended again during 2005-2010 when she moved back home to Henderson to care for her mother who had Alzheimer's disease. Pat attended UNC-Greensboro and afterwards became an educator in English, later to also include Math and Social Studies. She loved children, long walks in nature, especially the beaches and gardens of FL and NC, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and had an encyclopedic knowledge of local plants, flowers, and bird species.

An incredibly loyal friend and family member, Pat brought joy to all who had the privilege to know her. She giggled easily and often, whether from silly jokes or having her toes cared for in pedicures. She giggled as recently as 3 days before her death, a testament to her dedication to enjoying life and the people in it. Her ebullience even in the face of difficulty was consistent, and she stood as a rock in direct support of both her husband and her mother as they journeyed through their ends of life.

She will be deeply missed by her daughters, family, friends, and the residents and dedicated caregivers in her home.

Funeral to be held at Sossamon Funeral Home in Henderson, NC on Saturday July 26th, 2025 at 11am Eastern time. Interment will follow at Sunset Gardens.
