In loving memory of Patricia Dianne Pruitt
Patricia Dianne Pruitt, age 75, passed away on October 10, 2026, at Duke Medical Center, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, kindness, and devotion to her family.
Born in Vance County, Dianne was the daughter of the late Albert Pendergrass and Lee Allen Pendergrass. She was a wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and proud great-grandmother whose life was a beautiful reflection of her love for God and for others.
Dianne was the kind of person who never met a stranger. Her warm heart, beautiful smile, and genuine kindness made everyone she encountered feel welcome and loved. She had a special way of making people feel like family, her presence brought warmth and happiness wherever she went. Her smile was a familiar sight, and her caring spirit was a blessing to all who knew her.
Above all, Dianne was a God-loving, faithful servant who lived her life with a deep love for the Lord. Her faith was an important part of who she was, guiding her heart and the way she treated others. She shared God’s love through her kindness, her compassion, and the way she welcomed everyone she met. Her life was a testimony to the beauty of a faithful heart and a life devoted to serving others.
Dianne’s greatest earthly blessing was her family. She was the devoted wife of 58 years to her beloved husband, Edward Calvin Pruitt Sr. Together, they built a life rooted in love, commitment, and family. Their 58 years of marriage were a testament to enduring love and devotion, and the memories they created together will forever be treasured.
As a dedicated wife and mother, Dianne poured her heart into the people she loved most. She took pride in her family and treasured the relationships that made her life so meaningful. Her love was steady, heart was generous, and her family was one of her greatest joys.
Left to cherish her precious memory are her loving husband of 58 years, Edward Calvin Pruitt Sr.; her two sons, Kevin Pruitt (Julie), and Keith Pruitt and wife, Tiffany; and her daughter, Kristy Minish and husband, Mark.
Dianne also leaves behind six beloved grandchildren: Makayla Stallings and husband, Josh; Hunter Pruitt and wife, Autumn; Dylan Minish, Peyton Minish, Kaiden Henry, and Hudson Pruitt. Her legacy of love continues through her three precious great-grandchildren, Anson Stallings, Maci Stallings, and Briar Pruitt, who brought another special joy to her life.
In addition to her parents, Dianne was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Sadie Strum, and her brother, Danny Pendergrass.
Her family was her heart, and the love she gave them will remain one of her greatest gifts. The lessons she taught, the faith shared, the kindness she showed, and the memories she created will continue to be carried forward by the generations who follow her.
Though her passing leaves a deep hole in the hearts of those who love her, Dianne’s life will never be measured by her absence, but by the countless ways she made this world brighter. Her body may no longer be seen here, but the warmth of her love will remain in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be remembered for her welcoming spirit, her unwavering faith, her loving heart, and the beautiful way she made others feel special.
A funeral service celebrating Dianne’s life will be held at South Henderson Pentecostal Church, conducted by Pastor Frank Sossaman and Mark Richardson, on Wednesday, October 14 at 2:00. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Internment will follow at Sunset Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers will be Josh Stallings, Hunter Pruitt, Dylan Minish, Chuck Pendergrass, Allen Pendergrass, and Glenn Strum.
As her family and friends gather to celebrate her life, may they find comfort in God’s promises, strength in their faith, and peace in the many beautiful memories she leaves behind. Though she has said goodbye to this earthly life, the love she gave will never be forgotten, and her legacy of faith and kindness will live on through those she loved.
Dianne was a woman who loves God, loved her family, and never met a stranger. She leaves behind a legacy that cannot be measured in years, but in the lives she touched, the hearts she warmed, and the love she gave so freely.
Her earthly journey has ended, but her memory will live forever cherished by all who were blessed to know her.
