Peggy Vaughan Currin, 82, of Grassy Creek, North Carolina passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on February 18, 2024 after a brave fight with ALS.

She was the daughter of Alonza "Ben" Vaughan and Hester Mangum Vaughan. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, James H Currin, Jr., daughter Susan Hiscocks and her husband Tony, daughter Julie Overton and her husband Larry, and her adored grandchildren Tyler Overton, Sarah Hiscocks and Taylor Hiscocks. She is also survived by her brother Alvah Lee Vaughan (Vivian) and sister-in-law Virginia Vaughan along with many nieces and nephews and other extended family who were very special to her.

In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her brothers Raymond Vaughan and Floyd Vaughan and her sister Rowena Frazier.

Peggy was a lifelong member of Grassy Creek Baptist Church. She was dedicated to her family, her friends and her community and an avid fan of the NC State Wolfpack. She was a wonderful cook who enjoyed nothing more than having her entire family around her table to enjoy a meal she had prepared for them.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Grassy Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Cameron Currin officiating. A private interment will follow at a later date. The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Grassy Creek Baptist Church Parking Lot Fund, 9142 Grassy Creek Rd., Bullock, NC 27507.

The family will receive friends at the church following the service. At other times the family will be at the home of Tony and Susan Hiscocks at 2702 Dalton Mill Rd. In Bullock.
