Raeford M. Pernell

Raeford Macon Pernell, 74 of Warrenton, NC, passed away T uesday, April 25, 2023, at his home.

Born in Vance County, he was the son of the late Perry Macon Pernell and Edna Poythress Pernell .

Raeford was a well-known farmer in the Afton - Elberon Comm unity of Warren County . He loved farming and has farmed his en tire life. He was a member of South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church .

A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 27, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. in the Famil y Life Center of South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church, conducted by the Rev. Mark Richardson and Rev. Fran k Sossamon.

Surviving is his wife of fifty-two years, Margaret Dickerson Pernell; one daughter, Ginger P. Hicks (Ben), three sons, Spencer Pernell (Jody), Casey Pernell (Jenny) and Rusty Pernell (Emily) ; two brothers, Ronnie Pernell and Kenny Pernell; nine grandchildren, Camryn Fletcher , Nathan Pernell, Karsyn Pernell, Layla Pernell, Jack Pernell , Lilly Hicks, Chloe Hicks, Piper Hicks and Levi Hicks.

The family will receive friends Thursday, from 5:00-6:00 pm in the Family Life Center . All other times, they will be at his home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children 's Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis , TN 38105.
