Rebecca Ann Hayes Owens

Rebecca (Becky) Hayes Owens, 72, of Kittrell, NC, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at her home. She was married to her husband of 25.5 years, Boyd Douglas Owens.

Born in Granville County, she was the daughter to the late Willie Gurthan Hayes Sr. And Peggy Hester Hayes.

She was a graduate of the J.F. Webb Class of 1970. Rebecca loved being able to go camping, cruising, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren that she loved dearly.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, August 25, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Sossamon Funeral Home Chapel of Henderson officiated by the Rev. Frank Sossamon.

Survivors include her husband, three daughters; Melissa Rose (Kris), Jennifer Jacobs (Willie), Angel Whitley, one son; Jeffrey Owens (Nikki), nine grandchildren; Zachary Norwood (Anna), RJ Baker (Amanda), Hunter Norwood(Brayden) Morgan Baker (Brandon) Tyler Whitley, Madison Whitley, Willie Jacobs III, Jeremy Jacobs ,Kalee Jacobs four great- grandchildren; Madilynne Baker, Magnolia Baker,  Ivy Jacobs and Levi Jacobs; one sister;  Deborah Elliott (Dickie), three brothers; Willie Hayes Jr. (Marcia), Michael Hayes (Mary), Steven Hayes (Kathy), along with many nieces, nephews and extended family. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter Nyla Moon Jacobs.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
