Richard Blan Johnson, 36, of Butner passed away Friday, March 8, 2024.

Born in Durham County, he was the son of Nancy Carol Averett and the late Donald Gary Johnson.

Richard was Charter President of Praetorian Guard Charter of the Iron Order Motorcycle Club and did many charity and benefit rides for the community. He was an avid meat smoker and was passionate about his family and enjoyed the time and fellowship spent with them. Richard was a loving father, husband, son and brother. He served two years in the United States Air Force. Richard will always be loved and dearly missed by all that knew him.

Memorial services will be held Monday, March 18, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at Butner Baptist Church with the Reverend James Shelly officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor.

Survivors include one son, Jace Duvall Johnson; his mother, Nancy Averett; a sister, Christine Swanson (Kenny); two nieces, Ava Swanson and Stella Swanson; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Rickey and Glenda Stephenson; one sister-in-law, Kelly Stephenson (A.J.). He was preceded in death by his wife, Casey Stephenson Johnson; his father, Donald Johnson and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

The family will receive friends Monday, March 18, 2024, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. in the family life center at Butner Baptist Church.
