Robert M. McDowell Jr.

Robert Marvin McDowell Jr., 75, of Henderson, N.C. died Thursday, October 17, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.

Born in Vance County, he was the son of the late Robert Marvin McDowell Sr.
and Emma Lee Tant McDowell.

He was of the Baptist faith.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Henderson, conducted by the Rev. Frank Sossamon. Burial will follow at Sunset Gardens.

Surviving is his wife of 46 years, Linda R. McDowell; two daughters, Audrey McDowell (Kevin) and Angela Parker (Jeffrey), one son, Stephen Ellington (Rachel); eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, along with many other extended family members. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammie Pine and a sister, Kay Edwards.

The family will receive friends Saturday, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home.  All other times, they will be at his home.

Serving as pall bearers will be Dylan Parker, Jeffery Parker, Rodney Markel Davis, Kevin Floyd, Howard Faucette Jr. And Larry Satterwhite.
