Robert Joseph Reams 82, of Youngsville, NC, passed away Monday, January 13, 2025, at his home.
Born in Granville County, he was the son of the late Cabel Weston Reams and Mattie Wilson Reams.
He retired from Bandag Inc., where he was employed for thirty-six years. As longtime member of Dexter Baptist Church, he served in many capacities including Youth Director, Building and Grounds Committee and a member of the Deacon Board. He was also very active with the Samaritan's Purse Shoe Box Outreach.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Dexter Baptist Church. Conducted by the Rev. Wayne Clark and Rev. Cam Greene. Interment will take place in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-three years, Hurley Crowder Reams; one daughter, Beverly Wynette Reams; two sisters, Edith R. Branch and Ada R. Matthews; as well as other extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Kitty Claiborne and Mary R Williamson; and three brothers, Russel Reams, Calvin Reams and Martin L. Reams.
Serving as pallbearers will be a special friend, Rodney Dickerson, and the Deacons of Dexter Baptist Church, Bailey Barker, Dean Thomas George Norwood, Jerry Thomas, Tommy Harris, Keith Jones, and Camden Humphries.
The family will receive friends at the home in Youngsville.
