Robert "Bobby" Spencer Williams II, 83, of Oxford passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at Maria Parham Health.
Born in Granville County, he was the son of the late James Frederick Williams and Willie Lee Slaughter. He was a member of Tabbs Creek Baptist Church.
Bobby was a professional truck driver for Rose's Stores for forty-one years. He traveled the northeast region and met many friends along the way. He drove over four million miles without an accident.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 6, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Oxford officiated by Reverend Stan Jenkins. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Oxford.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-three years, Rose Elizabeth Milton Williams; one brother, Jerry F. Williams (Diane); one sister, Leola W. Wilkins; three nephews, Alvin E. Woodlief Jr., Jimmy Averette and Edwin Williams; a dear friend, David Evans and several other nieces, nephews and extended family. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Nelson T. Williams; one sister-in-law, Mozelle M. Woodlief; his mother-in-law, Carrie E. Milton and his father-in-law Sidney Milton.
The family will receive friends Saturday, August 5, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Oxford.
