Robert Lee Wood, 69, of Oxford, NC, passed away Friday, February 21, 2025 at his home.
Born in Granville County, he was the son of the late Frank Clayton Wood, and Catherine Smith Wood.
Mr. Wood was a member of the Rushing Waters Outreach Church.
Surviving are his wife of thirty-seven years, Christine Hite Wood; two sons, Brad Wood and Neal Wood (Jennifer); seven grandchildren, Kaela Wood, Hayden Wood, Jordan Wood, Landon Wood, Braxton Wood, Brooklyn Wood, and Jaxon Wood; one great-granddaughter, Kalea Wood; one sister, Ann Cook; two nieces, Debra Allen (Kirk) and Amanda Gaddis (Sam); one nephew, Logan Hite (Taylor); a great-niece, Catlyn O'Brien; and his beloved fur baby Mindy. Alongside his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Tommy Wood and Frank Wood, and one niece Kathy O'Brien.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday February 25, 2025 at 2:00 at Sossamon Funeral Home in Oxford conducted by Pastor Robert Newton. Interment will immediately follow at Meadowview Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service from 1-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Billy Spain, Brad Wood, Neal Wood, Jordan Wood, Kaela Wood, and Dennis Oliphant.
Flowers may be accepted or in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Granville County Animal Shelter
