Roland M. Nelson

Roland "Hood" Nelson, 72, of Norlina, NC died Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Person Memorial Hospital.

Born in Ohio, he was the son of the late Ellis Nelson and Leota Conley Nelson. He was the widower of Wanda Hendrick nelson.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 13, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Sossamon Funeral home Chapel.

Survivors include one daughter, Elizabeth Nelson; two sons, Jonathan Nelson (Constance) and Joseph Nelson; five grandchildren, Justin Nelson, Paige Nelson, Joshua Nelson, Kelsie Nelson and Kaleb Nelson, five great grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Rouleau and Susan Nelson; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by six sisters and seven brothers.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the home of Butch Ellington, 1289 Faulkner Town Rd., Henderson, NC, 27537.
