Ronald Dwayne Combs 81, of Louisburg, NC, passed away Monday, February 23, 2026, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

Born in Wilkes County, he was the son of the late Billy Franklin Combs and Mary Lois Bryant Combs.

He was a United States Navy Veteran.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home Chapel in Henderson. Interment will follow at Sunset Gardens.

Survivors include his wife of sixty years, Judy Carol Nixon Combs; one daughter, Stephanie Combs Lopez (Daniel); one son, Kevin Combs (Donna); five grandchildren, Justin Combs (Hannah), Kelly Combs, Jesse Blackburn, Dalton Blackburn and Kasey Combs; five great grandchildren, Aly Combs, Penelope Combs, Emmett Combs, Deliah Combs and Jebediah Combs; one sister, Linda Bullins (Joe); one brother, Donald Wayne Combs; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Brenda Perdue; two brothers, Harold Ralph Combs and Jimmy Roger Combs.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.
