Ronald Alva Wheless, 66, of Butner, NC died Friday, January 6, 2023 at his home.

Born in Durham County, he was the son of the late William Alva Wheless and Adell Greene Glover Wheless. He was the widower of Judy Sheperd Wheless.

Mr. Wheless proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and was a huge Duke Blue Devils fan who loved to spend much of his free time watching football and basketball. He had a love for playing golf every chance that he got.

Surviving is a sister, Sandra Edwards, two brothers, Gary Wheless and William Wheless, one step-daughter Densie Sheperd, two step grandsons, Daniel Ahles and Nicholas Douglas (Carey), as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by, one sister Sharon Brown, one great-nephew, Christopher West, one niece, Kimberly Labar and a sister-in-law, Susan Driver.

Memorials can be made in Ronnie's honor to Murdoch Developmental Center 1600 East C Street, Butner, NC 27509.
