Rosa Lee Long Baird, 79, of Oxford, North Carolina passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at Brantwood Nursing Home surrounded by her family.  Rosa was born on July 2, 1945, in Roxboro, North Carolina.  She was the daughter of the late  Walter Averette and Salley Bet Bowes Long.

Rosa married Howard Baird November 30, 1991.  They were married for 33 years.  They enjoyed going to the beach and doing things together.  They loved having cookouts on Sunday afternoons with family.  She was known for her love of cooking and baking, spending time with her family, going to the beach with her sister-in-laws each year, and always had a yard full of beautiful flowers and doing things for others.  She loved her church family and enjoyed the monthly senior trips to eat lunch at different restaurants.

Survivors include Husband Howard Baird, her sons Jeff Duffer(Trisha) of Clover, VA, Curtis Duffer(Leslie) of Alton, VA and Eric Clay (Angel) of Henderson, NC, stepsons Gary Baird (Jennifer) and Kenny Baird (Jackie) of Oxford; 5 grandchildren - Chad Duffer, Joey Duffer, Abby Duffer, Austin Baird and Courtney Beckwith, 4 great-grandchildren - Grace Duffer, Hank Duffer, Reid Baird and Miles Baird; one sister Lois Adcock.  She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Rosa was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters; John Peter Long, Robert Long, Thomas Long, Edith Bohanon, Louise Wilson and Lorene Shotwell.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025  from 1:00-2:00 pm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Oxford, NC, followed by a funeral service officiated by Reverend Tim Atkinson.  At all other times, the family will be receiving at the home of Howard Baird. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
