Roy L. Ayscue

Roy Lee Ayscue Jr. 80, of Henderson, N.C. died Monday, August 11, 2025, at his home.

Born in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Mattie Mosley Ayscue and Roy Lee Ayscue Sr.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home Chapel in Henderson, conducted by the Rev. Frank Sossamon.

Surviving is his wife of fifty-four years, Bettie Pearce Ayscue; one daughter, Carolyn "Baby Cake Ayscue, three sons, Roy Lee Ayscue III, Elvis Ayscue and Richard Ayscue; a grandson that he thought of as a son, Jonathan Patterson, and two other grandsons, Caleb Parrish and Richard Ayscue Jr.; two sisters, Margaret Kearney and Sarah Lee Norwood (Eddie), along with many other extended family members. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three sons, John Clifton Ayscue, Jeremy Pearce and Guy Ayscue, one sister, Lilly Mae Boone and two brothers, Charles Ayscue and Joseph Ayscue.

The family will receive friends Thursday, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Sossamon Funeral Home.  All other times, they will be at his home.
