Ruby G Tant

Ruby Griffin Tant 78, of Henderson, NC passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family.

Born in Mecklenburg County Virginia, she was daughter of the late Isaac Green Griffin and Mary Mae Lawson Griffin. She was the widow of Albert James Tant.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home Chapel of Henderson. Conducted by Pastor Bryon Reavis. The family will receive friends at the home immediately following the service.

Survivors include two daughters, Angela Faulkner and Janet Chapman (Kenneth); one son, Danny Carroll; and bonus daughter, Wendy Schandel (Steve); six grandchildren, Kacey Reavis, Maegan Faulkner, Laura Chapman,  Bryan Chapman, Ava Schandel and Gabe Schandel; five great grandchildren; three sisters, Margaret Tipton, Nancy Carey and Sadie Spraggins (Clyde); one brother, William Griffin; her special dog, Ginger; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Spraggins and Irene Layne; and one brother, Buck Griffin.
