Ruth Alice Bernard Fidelman, 89, of Creedmoor, NC entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Franklin County, OH, she was the daughter of the late William Stewart Bernard and Hester Mae Collins Bernard.
Ruth devoted her life to faith, family, and service. A lifelong member of the Church of the Nazarene, she served as a secretary and administrative assistant to the Church of the Nazarene Central Ohio District Superintendent in Columbus, OH, a role in which she faithfully led and inspired many. As the devoted wife of a Nazarene pastor for more than 30 years, Ruth supported ministry not only through leadership but also through teaching Sunday school, playing the piano, and founding a daycare at South Zanesville Church of the Nazarene to serve the needs of young families.
Her gift for music was evident from an early age. At just 12 years old, Ruth was accepted into the University of Pittsburgh's gifted piano program—an honor that marked the beginning of a lifelong ministry in music and worship.
Ruth is survived by her husband Joseph Fidelman and children: Catherine Rene Jacks, Deborah Kay Fidelman, and James Arthur Fidelman; and her five cherished grandchildren: Joshua Jacks, Megan Jacks, Benjamin Jacks, Travis Fidelman, and Jessica Fidelman.
A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
