Samuel F White Jr.

Samuel Floyd White Jr. 85, of Henderson, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Oxford Health & Rehab Center.

Born in Vance County, he was the son of the late Samuel Floyd White Sr and Elizabeth Ophelia Taylor White.

Sam graduated from Zeb Vance High School and later from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill with a master's degree in education. He taught and coached baseball for more than thirty years in the Kerr Lake area, High Point University, Campbell University, and Louisburg College. He taught private baseball lessons for numerous boys and girls in the community and was an active participant in the Senior Games and the YMCA of Henderson. Sam was a life-long member of Fuller Chapel Church.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Fuller Chapel Christian Church. Conducted by Rev. Tammy Ayscue. At other times, the family will be at the home of Kay and Charles Thompson.

Survivors include one sister, Frances White Beckham; three nieces, Kimberly Beckham Davis, Kay Beckham Thompson (Charles) and Kathy Beckham Thomas (Eddie); one nephew, Larry Thomas Beckham, Jr. (Michele); nine great nieces and nephews, Morgan (Chad), Hayden, CT, Chase, Asa, Erin, Avery, Makayla and Scott and one great-great nephew, Luke. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Larry Beckham, Sr.; one great niece, Ryan Beckham Davis and one great nephew, William Christopher Harris.

Public viewing will take place on Thursday from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
