Sarah Newton Oakley, 84, of Butner passed away Monday, April 14, 2025, at Duke Medical Center.
Born in Granville County on July 22, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Willie Knight Evans and Nannie Duke.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 18, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home Chapel of Creedmoor. Rev. Eddie Nutt will officiate. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include two sons, Melvin Newton (Rhonda) and Ronnie Newton; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by nine siblings.
The family will receive friends, Friday, April 18, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home in Creedmoor.
