Shelby R. King

Shelby Robinson King, 84, of Henderson, NC died Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at her home.

Born in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Roger Robinson and Lois Newman Robinson.

She was a long-time member of Eastside Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held Friday, July 8, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sossamon Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Dr. Gene Wood. Interment will follow at Sunset Gardens.

Survivors include her husband, Charles "Wimpy" King; two daughters, Lisa Dickerson (Sam) and Debbie Parrish; three sisters, Melody Grissom, Sylvia Edwards and Nell Abbott; one brother, Bobby Robinson; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Charles "Ricky" King; and one brother, Freeland Robinson.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 7, 2022 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home of Sam and Lisa Dickerson.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jesse Cole, Brandon King, Justin Waddell, David Abbott, Randy Abbott, and Cliff King.
