Shirley J Mabee
Shirley June Mabee 81, of Saint John New Brunswick, Canada, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023, in Oxford, NC with her daughter Bonita June Whittaker and daughter-in-law Charlene Vaughan Whittaker by her side after a long history of cardiac health issues.
Shirley worked at the Saint John General Hospital in the nursery. She later worked and retired from Saint John Regional Hospital in 1999after working several years in the SPD Department and the Dietary Department. She was a single parent of two children (Steven and Bonita) that she raised on her own from early childhood.
Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Steven Frederick Whittaker; big sisters, Alice (Ashford) Totten, Vivian (Alec) MacDonald, Florence (Len) Coleman and June (Glen) Tabor.
Shirley is survived by her daughter Bonita June Whittaker, brother Lloyd (Sandra) Mabee, several nieces and nephews, one grandson, Ryan Steven Hayward; one granddaughter, Stephanie Frances Trowbridge Thomas; one great grandson, Coty Nicholas Reid; one great granddaughter, Khaleesi Sky Trowbridge; as well as two great grandsons in New Brunswick, Canada.
