Sonia Dawn Newman Gupton, 54, of Henderson, NC passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026 at her home.

Born in Vance County, she was the daughter of Russell Wayne Newman and Shelia Coghill Newman.

Surviving alongside her parents are her two daughters, Leeah Gupton Allgood (Dylan), and Tristen Gupton. She was preceded in death by her brother, Cameron Wayne Newman; maternal grandparents, Annie B & Deales Coghill; and paternal grandparents Betty Nance and Harold Newman.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at New Sandy Creek Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Allen Ayscue

The family will receive friends at the home of Russell & Shelia Newman, 1686 Rock Mill Rd. Henderson, NC 27537.
