Steven Alan Stover “Steve” was born May 5, 1953, at Monmouth Hospital in Long Branch, New Jersey. The youngest child of Bernie and Marie Stover raised in Keansburg, NJ . Steve was showered by the love and affection of his parents as well as his older brothers, Glenn and Gary. Raised in a Catholic household and attending Catholic primary schools including Christian Brothers Academy. Steve also served as an alter boy. Later he would go on to attend St John’s University in NYC for College.

He later joined the infamous drinking club with a running problem, The Hash House Harriers where he was affectionately known as “Sven”, and formed life long friendships. Steve worked for Revlon for 31 years, which later would take him to Raleigh, North Carolina where he raised his two daughters with his wife Cindy. Later in life Steve moved to Oxford, NC and worked for the United States Postal Services in Stovall. He loved the town of Oxford so much he purchased land to put down roots for his family. He was an incredible father and the best Pop Pop to his 5 grandchildren. Steve was also an avid animal lover who often took care of animals on his mail route. He was a long time member of the Elks Lodge and huge NY Giants fan. Steve never met a stranger and made everyone feel welcome. To know Steve was to love him, he had a heart of gold, greeted everyone with a smile, and had endless jokes that kept everyone laughing. Steve was one of a kind, and lived his life to the absolute fullest and will be deeply missed by many.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, older brother Gary, and Gary’s two sons Kevin and Gary Jr. Survivors include his daughters Jessica Stover-Gallo and Tammy Sessa, sons in law Tommy Gallo and Josh Breckling, grandchildren Michael, Isabella, Hunter, Olivia and Ava.
