Sue Hester Dove Garner, 94, of Creedmoor, NC passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Croasdaile Pavillion.

Born in Granville County, she was the daughter of the late George Houston Dove and Burma Hester Dove

Mrs. Garner was a longtime member of Creedmoor United Methodist Church where she served as the organist for over 50 years. She retired from Triangle Orthopedics, where she worked for 46 years as a secretary, medical assistant, and transcriptionist. Her favorite pastimes were sewing, knitting, and spending time with her family and friends.

She was a beloved mother, grandma, and great grandma. Surviving are her daughter, Linda Phillips (JC); one son, Randy Garner (Pam); one granddaughter, Katie Wood (Justin); one grandson, Zack Garner; and two great-grandchildren, Chloe and Brody Wood. Alongside her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, John Garner, and her sister Lou Kapherr.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026 at 12 noon at Carolina Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Ben Rouse and Rev. Keith Sexton.

The family will receive friends an hour and a half prior to the service from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Creedmoor United Methodist Church.

Serving as pallbearers will be Zack Garner, Justin Wood, Joey Kapherr, Will Kapherr, Scott Hamre, and Jeff Whitfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to the Creedmoor United Methodist Church’s Music Department, 214 Park Ave. Creedmoor, NC 27522.
