Mrs. Susan Kaye Lytle Pettis, 57, of Creedmoor, NC peacefully passed on Monday, December 30, 2024, at Duke University Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Warren, OH, she is the daughter of Mr. James Earl Lytle and Mrs. Mary Jo Molnar Lytle. Susan graduated from Warren G. Harding High School in 1986. Susan then married the "love of her life" Lester Merrell Pettis on April 13, 1996.
Susan was a 1990 Kent State University Graduate. She spent many hours volunteering with the Miracle League and Special Olympics of Franklin County. She was also a dedicated band parent for the South Granville High School Marching Band. Susan retired after thirty years of service to the State of North Carolina as a Registered Nurse at Central Regional Hospital and John Umstead Hospital in 2023.
Susan loved birds, always keeping their feeders full. She also loved gardening, tending to her multitude of flower beds and planters. One bird and flower in particular that she loved the most of all was her hummingbirds and roses. Susan loved her pets: Rampage, Jinx, and many before. Susan enjoyed putting puzzles, Legos, and tons of other fun things together.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Lester Merrell Pettis; four sons, Justin, Jarrod, Jordan and Jensen; stepson, Lester McLendon; one brother, Chris Lytle; brother-in-law Ray Pettis and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extended family members.
