Susan Celeste Tomlinson 70, formally of Butner, NC, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at her home in Charlotte, NC.

Born in Watts Hospital in Durham, NC, she was the daughter of the late James F. Tomlinson Jr and Vincie Hardison Tomlinson.

Susan grew up in Butner and graduated from South Granville High School in 1972. She later moved to Charlotte and completed Radiology School at Charlotte Memorial Hospital. Susan was employed with Charlotte Radiological Group for over twenty years until her retirement.

Susan was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church Butner.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Durham. Conducted by the Rev. Jim Shelley.

Survivors include two brothers, Charles (Judy) of Oak Island, NC and Bobby (Linda) of Butner, NC; one niece, Lisa (James) of Stanley, NC; five nephews, Jamie (Tina) of Ft. Mill, SC,  Mark of Lenoir, NC, as well as Chuck, Scott and Travis; a great nephew, Taylor (Abby) serving in the US Navy in California; great niece, Brittany (Hampton) of Taylor's, SC; great nieces and nephews, Jenny, Emily, Cole, Aiden, Meagan, Lauren, Rowe, Jessica and Holly; great great nieces and nephews, Leilani, Austynn, Katherine and Henry; many cousins, extended family and a special neighbor and friend Sandy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, James F Tomlinson III.

The family will receive friends at Sossamon Funeral Home of Creedmoor on Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon.
