Sylvia Ann Edwards Goss, 81, of Oxford passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at her home.
Born in Vance County, NC on May 7, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Hill Thomas Edwards and Lillian Frances Jackson Edwards.
Sylvia was better known to her family as "Chick" and was very passionate about her family. She loved them immensely and they loved her just as much in return. To "Chick", her family was the center of her world where she found and provided love, compassion, support and guidance. She was longtime member of Stovall Baptist Church.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Dexter Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Wayne Clark.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-one years, Kenneth M. Goss Sr.; one daughter, Teresa Goss Murray (Tony Clay Murray) of Kittrell; one son, Kenneth M. Goss Jr. (Norma Murray Goss) of Oxford; four grandchildren, Caleb A. Goss, Brooke M. Lanier, Amanda D. Murray and Chase Watson (Brandy); four great-grandchildren, Grace, Chloe, London and Carter; one sister, Mary Thomas E. Wynne of Henderson and one brother, B. Frank Edwards of Middleburg. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary E. Harper, Eva E. Elmore and Othela E. Moody and two brothers, Willard Thomas (Tom) Edwards and Joseph Hill Edwards.
The family will receive friends Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 12:00-1:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall at Dexter Baptist Church and other times at the home.
The family would like to extend a special "thank you" to friends, neighbors and to Amedisys Hospice for all the kindness shown to them over the last several weeks.
