Thelma S. Watkins

Thelma Satterwhite Watkins,87, of Henderson, NC died Thursday, January 11, 2024, at her grand-daughters home in Oxford, NC.

Born in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Hertford Ayscue Satterwhite and Fannie Ellington Satterwhite.  She was the widow of Robert Fleming Watkins.

Mrs. Watkins was a member of Carey Baptist Church.

Graveside funeral services will be held Monday, January 15, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., at Sunset Gardens, conducted by Pastor Will Breedlove.

Surviving is a daughter, Regina Watkins, a son, Robert "Dickie" Watkins Jr.; two grandchildren, Tiffany Lynch (Jeremy) and Taylor Newhouse (John) and four great grandchildren, Cameron Lynch, Olivia Lynch, Jordan Collins and Makylah Newhouse along with several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers; Jesse Satterwhite, Willard Satterwhite, Merrell Satterwhite, Hertford Satterwhite, Edward Satterwhite and three sisters; Arlene S. Harris, Mary Satterwhite and Ossie Bivins.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.
