Thomas Edward Player Jr.

Thomas "Tommy" Edward Player Jr., 80, of Creedmoor passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at his home.

Born in Granville County, NC he was the son of the late Thomas Edward Player Sr. and Mildred Louise Pope.

Thomas was an Army veteran serving with First Special Forces 82nd Airborne Division and was a member of the American Legion.  He was of the Baptist faith and attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 8, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church officiated by Reverend David Herman. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor.

Tommy is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Janet Estes Player; one sister, Gayla Peed Currin; special canine companion, Ollie and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.  He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Lucius and Mildred "Mickey" Peed and his daughter, Dana Ree Player.

The family will receive friends Friday, September 8, 2023, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Chad Powell, Kevin Estes, Scott Powell, Grayson Powell, Hayden Powell and Austin Link.
