Thomas “Tommy” Alex Jenkins, 77, of Wilton, NC had his heavenly homecoming on Thursday, Aug 6, 2026, at UNC REX Hospital in Raleigh, NC surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Granville County, NC on March 20, 1949, Tommy was the son of the late William Alec Jenkins and Roxy Mildred Allen. He was a graduate of South Granville High School and Vance Granville Community College and served in the NC National Guard. He was a fiercely devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and was known to help anyone in need.

Tommy’s memory will be treasured by his wife Cathy Paynter Jenkins of 37 years; his children Eugenia “Genie” Parish (Chad), Jerman Paynter (Jennifer), Terrie Roberson (Robby), Lisa Preddy (Clifton), Teresa May (Dale); his grandchildren Kenzie, Jessica (Jeremy), Chase, Dylan, Dakota, Grayson, Jayden, Sara, Hunter, and great grandchildren Easton and Emmy Lou; his siblings Timothy (Tim) Jenkins and Lynn Henderson.

A celebration of Tommy’s life will be held at Peaces Chapel Baptist Church in Kittrell, NC on Sunday Aug 9, 2026. Family visitation to be held at 2pm with service to follow at 3pm.

Tommy will be remembered as a kind and devoted man to his family and friends and loved the people that he met while owning and operating Ace Crane Service.
