Tommy Earl Terry, 84, of Durham passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at his home.

Born on February 22, 1942, in Chatham County, NC, he was the son of the late Willie Hickman Terry and Ardell Brinkley Terry.

Tommy retired as a carpenter from Murdoch Developmental Center.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home Chapel of Creedmoor, with Wilson Green officiating. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include one daughter, Gayle Dauphinais (Conrad); one son, Neal Terry; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one brother, Lonnie Terry (Edith); two stepdaughters, Denise Kaleel (Bob and Aeralynn) and Peggy Vaughan (Ronnie); three special sisters-in-law, Alice Vaughan, Donita Miller, and Betsy Gjertsen; one brother-in-law, Wilson Green (Laura) and lifelong friends, Diane and Virgil Clayton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Barbara, Francis and Juanita and three brothers, Johnny, Wayne and Buck.

The family will receive friends Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Creedmoor.
