Wayne "Rick" Eric Wright, 83, of Henderson, NC, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Oxford Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Marshall County, Indiana on August 20, 1941, he was the son of the late Wayne Oliver Wright and Alice Jane Binkley.

Rick served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Okinawa and Thailand. He attained the rank of Sergeant.

He was a long-time member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Winter Park, Florida and an active member and teacher in the Sailing Club in Central Florida. Rick also enjoyed taking cruises with his wife, golfing with friends, going on motorcycle journeys, connecting with other Amateur Radio operators, and donating blood.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mary Wagner Wright; one daughter, Jennifer Chesnutt (Rod); one daughter-in-law, Barrett Uhler Wright; one sister, Rachel Smyth (James), and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, David Wright; two sisters, Jennifer Lin Wurdack and Alice Lee Addison; stepfather, O. R. Demsgard; and stepmother, Alma Wright.

A funeral mass is being planned at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 2510 Middle Road, Glenshaw, PA 15116, with details forthcoming.
