Wilbert Allen Overby, 76, of Norlina, N.C. died Monday, November 24, 2025, in Oxford, NC.

Born in Vance County, he was the son of the late Ethel Dickerson Overby and Brooks Wilbert Overby.

He was a retired tobacco farmer.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Shocco Methodist Church Cemetery, conducted by Donnie Allgood.

Surviving is one daughter. Donna Overby Combs (Kevin), one son Steven Allen Overby; five grandchildren, Justin Combs (Hannah), Kelly Combs, Kasey Combs, Elaina Overby and Keira Overby, five great-grandchildren, Aly Combs, Ella Combs, Emmett Combs, Delilah Combs and Jeb Combs; one nephew, Tony Hill; and one sister, Betty Edwards (Wallace). Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by, three brothers, Buddy Overby, Robert Overby and Forest Overby and one sister, Brenda Overton.

The family will receive friends at the home of Steven Overby 6371 Vicksboro Road, Henderson, N.C. 27537, on Saturday, November 29, 2025, from 12:00-2:00 p.m.

Flowers are accepted, or memorials may be made to Duke Children's Cancer Hospital, 2301 Erwin Road, Durham, N.C. 27705.
