William Thomas Cox

William Thomas Cox, 78, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.

Born in Granville County, NC, he was the son of the late John Henry Cox and Retha Bell Cox.

William worked as a HVAC technician for the school system and was a member of Bullock Baptist Church.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 27, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Chapel of Oxford conducted by the Rev. Johnny Yount. Burial will follow at the Royster Family Cemetery.

Survivors include one daughter; Sandy Reese (Dale), two stepsons; Nelson Dunn Jr., Kenny Dunn (Christie), seven grandchildren; Alexis Reese, Avery Reese, Hunter Dunn, Alyssa Dunn, Riddick Dunn, Abby Dunn and Kira Dunn, one sister; Shirley Gupton (Billy), two brothers; John Cox (Peggy), Ray Cox (Sandra), along with many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife; Vivian Faucette Cox, his second wife; Priscilla Tingen Cox and one brother; David Cox.

The family will receive friends the day of the service from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Oxford and all other times at the home of Dale and Sandy Reese.

Honorary Pallbearers include Harold Newby, Bryan Clayton, Sgt. Ron Miller, Dale Matthews and Randy Matthews.

Serving as pallbearers are Mike Gupton, Hunter Dunn, Richard Cox, Gary Cox, Kevin Cox and Adam Cox.
