William Jerry Garrard, 90, of Creedmoor, NC passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2026 at his home.

Born on February 7, 1936 in Durham County, he was the son of the late Alonzo Buck Garrard and Elizabeth Marie Broach Garrard.

Mr. Garrard served in the Army from 1957-1959. He then moved to Creedmoor in 1980, where he owned Jerry’s Pizza for 25 years. He his wife, and family enjoyed serving the community and made many friends. He enjoyed his time watching Duke Basketball and John Wayne westerns.

He is survived by his son, Dennis Garrard; daughter, Denise McCampbell; one daughter-in-law, Amy Garrard; three grandchildren, C.J. Whitt (Lauren), Nathan Garrard (Kaylor), and Carly Carver (Zach); four great-grandchildren; and many beloved cousins and other extended family members. Alongside his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betsy Marie Kanas Garrard; one son, William “Scooter” Garrard; and one son-in-law, Wade McCampbell.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Sossamon Funeral Home of Creedmoor conducted by Rev. Dan Hill.

The family will receive friends briefly following the service and for all other times will be at the home.
