William J. Jones

William Joe Jones, 73, of Oxford, NC passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Duke Raleigh Hospital.

Born in Northampton County, NC he was the son of the late Alton William Jones and Paulene Rawls Jones.

Mr. Jones retired from Vance Granville Community College as the Welding Program Head Instructor.

A funeral service will be held Monday, December 12, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Sossamon Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford. Conducted by the Rev. Bruce Beck. Interment will follow the service at Meadowview Memorial Park.

Survivors include his wife of forty-seven years, Phyllis Abbott Jones; three sons, Reuben West (Deana), Brian Jones (Lisa) and Keith Jones (Veronica Shuguil); five grandchildren, Bryant West, Jakob West, Logan Jones, Noah Jones and Landon Jones; and two great grandchildren, Caysen Ayscue and Ava Jane West.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on the day of the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. At other times they will be at the home.
