William E. McCann Jr.

William Everett "Billy" McCann Jr., 79, of Henderson, NC died Thursday, January 5, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.

Born in Simcoe, Ontario, Canada, he was the son of the late William Everett McCann Sr. And Maude Jones McCann.

Billy was retired as a truck driver with the former Roses Stores Inc.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 8, 2023 at 2:30 p.m., at Harris Chapel United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Jenny Wilson and the Rev. Dr. Glenn Stallsmith.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Surviving are his wife of thirty-seven years, Diana Filliator McCann; two daughters, Joy M. Ellis and Kim M. Morris (Billy) and two sons; Steven E. McCann and William A. McCann (Chelsey); seven grandchildren, Jonathan Wade, Jackson Ellis, Bailey King, Madison Morris, Steven E. McCann Jr., Kayleigh Mae McCann and Anna Kate McCann; one sister, JoAnn M. Wilder (Frank) and one brother, Marvin B. McCann (Phoebe) and many nieces and nephews and extended family members.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by, one son, Adam Lee McCann and his sister, Ruth Katherine "Kathy" McCann.

The family will receive friends Sunday, from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at the church.  All other times, they will be at his home.

Serving as pall bearers will be Chad Burchinal, Jackson Ellis, Ray Wilder, Sam Sanderson, Brian Smith, Walt Knight, Matt Cason and Matt Stone.
