William Thomas Vaughan, 88, of Oxford passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at UNC Rex Hospital.

William was born on August 13, 1934 in Granville County to Zelder Ray Vaughan and Emma Sue Elliott.

He was a longtime member and deacon at Grassy Creek Baptist Church and was a tobacco farmer for most of his life.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 18, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Grassy Creek Baptist Church officiated by Reverend Cameron Currin. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include, one son, William Edward Vaughan; two daughters, Bonnie Humphries (Barry) and Hilda Sommer (Jake), thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and sisters-in-law, Esther Vaughan and Carrie Jane Moore. He was proceeded in death by his parents, his wife, Elizabeth "Becky" Vaughan; a daughter, Kathy Vaughan; two brothers, Francis Vaughan and Ray Vaughan and one sister, Florence Boyd.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at Grassy Creek Baptist Church.
