Obituary

Yuvonnah Faye Castle Cyrus York (Kegley), lovingly known as Faye, 82, of Stem, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026. She was born on September 16, 1943, in Dabney, West Virginia.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Grace Mae Kegley and Thomas Kegley, her stepfather, Ernie Noble, and her beloved son, Michael Harrison Castle.

She is survived by her devoted husband, David Lee York of Stem; her daughter, Jacquline Castle Alford (Ricky) of Stem, Sarah York, Chris York, Katie York, and Rebekah York; her grandchildren, Brandy Alford (Trina), Chris Alford, Amanda Wharton (Trevor) and Rebekah Power Six great-grandchildren, Chris Riley, Jayce Riley, Trey Riley, Kayla Alford, Bradly Alford, and Sierra Alford; along with six great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved deeply.

Faye retired from Orlando Utilities Commission, where she dedicated many years of service before beginning a well-earned retirement surrounded by family and the things she loved most.

She was a warm, loving soul with a spontaneous spirit and a joyful heart. She loved fun, bright colors, had a special fondness for Tweety Bird, and absolutely adored her dogs. Her kindness, playful nature, and unconditional love will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and all who knew her.

Her legacy of love lives on through the many generations she helped shape.
