Betty Rivers Collier, 74, of Henderson, NC died Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Maria Parham Health.
Born in Warren County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Ernest and Mattie Ayscue Rivers.
Mrs. Collier was a retired Day Care Director. She was a life long member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church denomination. She loved her family, friends, and loved to go fishing. She influenced the lives of many young children through her daycare, and played the piano and sung in many churches. Most of all she loved her Lord.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 6, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. at South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church, conducted by Rev. Frank Sossamon and Rev. Dempsey Winstead. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Warrenton, NC
Surviving are her husband, Charles Junior Collier, a daughter, Darlene Gill (Clint), a son, Tasker Fleming (Traci); four step children, Matthew Collier, Steven Collier, Nathaniel Collier, and Mike Collier; two sisters, Joyce Vogt, and Annette Rivers; eleven grandchildren and two great-grand children. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Effie Mathes, and Janice Hale, and two brothers Larry Rivers, and William Rivers,
The family will receive friends Sunday at South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church the hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and her nephews.
