Julia Young Thompson 74, of Butner, NC died Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Duke University Hospital.

Born in Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Anna Lee Dunavant Young Sparks and James Carroll Young, along with her late step-father Claude Paul Sparks.

Mrs. Thompson was the former owner and operator of Bob's Pizza and Sub's in Butner, NC.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Butner and was a U.S. Navy Veteran.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Butner, conducted by the Dr. Charlie Bryan.  Burial will follow in the Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery in Norlina.

Surviving are her husband, Bobby Lee Thompson Sr., five sons, Richard Obranovich (Lisa), Kenneth Obranovich (Lisa), Paul Thompson, Bobby Lee Thompson Jr. and Michael Thompson (Kim); a brother, James C. Young (Laurie) and a sister, Theresa A. Pearson, and six grandchildren.

Serving as pall bearers will be Richard Obranovich , Kenneth Obranovich ,  Paul Thompson, Joshua Thompson, Michael Thompson and Kyle Thompson.

The family will receive friends Saturday, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Butner.  All other times they will be at her home.
